Was there widespread, blatant cheating in our recent elections? Many think so. That’s why passing SB405 is so important – because Voter ID solves just about every single issue that mars the legitimacy of elections, everywhere. There’s no reason why Nevadans don’t have Voter ID already. But finally, after all these years, Voter ID is being brought forward again. So what is SB405?
SB405 is an omnibus bill to repeal many of the changes that were pushed through in the actual middle of the night in previous administrations. Sponsored by Governor Joe Lombardo, SB405 would make our elections in Nevada better, safer, and more transparent. The reforms are also supported by 3 out of 4 Nevada voters! Here are its highlights:
- Require proof of identification to vote in person or by mail
- Repeal unsolicited mail in ballots piling up on the streets
- Provide free identity cards to any voter who doesn’t already have one
- Allow voters to request a mail ballot
- Require mail in ballots to be returned by 5 PM Election Day
- Require disclosure of ballot harvesting and cap at 30 ballots collected per individual

I am writing to ask you to support Senate Bill 405. I’m sure you were horrified, as I was, to see the blatant election fraud that has occurred in Nevada. Whether it’s people committing vote buying felonies on tape and walking free (https://bit.ly/CashForVotesNV), or censured SOS Barbara Cegavske confessing that over 4,000 non-citizens voted in 2020 and she had no way to stop them – the fraud is widespread and despicable.
You can be part of the solution to return Nevada to rationality through common sense legislation like SB405. You need an ID for just about everything in adult life – including interacting with government agencies. This bill provides free IDs to those who may not be able to afford it, and has the simple requirement of proof of Voter ID to prevent voter fraud. It also makes ballot harvesters have to identify themselves – so if an employer or a union is illegally pressuring their employees to vote a certain way, that bad actor can be held accountable. Finally, this requires mail in ballots to be received Election Day. Aren’t you tired of Nevada being the laughingstock of the country and taking weeks to count votes? No one has faith in our Republic when you get one result Election Night and another 2 weeks later.
There is no rational reason to vote no on SB405. Please help stop the steal in Nevada and say YES to CLEAN ELECTIONS and YES to Governor Lombardo and YES ON SB405!
